Potter's Wrasse (Macropharyngodon Geffroy)

I have just aquired a Potter's wrasse that is a juive. I believe it is a he and he is almost 1 inch long.

I have him in a 20g long that is a new setup, fully cycled but does not have much pod life or growth on the rocks.

The 20g has a 40g sump and between the two tanks there is over 100lbs of lr. I have added 3 pod cultures directly to the tank, two tiger pod 6 oz bottles, and a cutlure from LFS cultures. The wrasse is taking Reed's Artic Pods as food.

I am looking for any tips to help make sure this guy gets to be an adult. I am also looking for any nutritional information you can offer.

I have experience in breeding seahorses, but this is my first reef fish juie i am trying to grow out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your time.

THis is the end of week one. It seems I can not find anyone with experience in the matter.

I have seeded the tank with pods and it seems the wrasse like Artic Pods by Reed's.

Week one down, any ideas for week two?

I get no responses there as well. I am thinking there is not a lot of experience out there with this fish.

I was hoping since he (I think) is a juie some of you with experience with breeding could give some helpful advice.

I'm doing the best I can.

I have luck with my black leopard wrasse, real similar to your potters.. It will always hunt for the pods but I would also start to feed mysis shrimp. It took my leopard wrasse a few days but he started to accept the mysis. I have had him now for 4 months and he is getting fat. The potters and leopards are very cool fish but the trick is to get them to also take frozen foods. I soaked food in garlic and vitamins.

Good Luck

Thank you so much for your help. I have frozen mysis, I will try ASAP. If not I will order live.

I am going to setup a 20g ravity fed fuge as well as my sump refugium next week. Going to stock it with some macro's and a few more pod cultures.

hope all goes well.

Any more advice would be so appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Forgot, I'm keeping my tank at 74F to help slow bacteria grwth and hopefully the metabolic rate.

The tank is having a light cycle of 2 four hour periods a day. When the light goes on the fish eats, so this wy he eats Artic pods twice a day.
