Powder Blue aggressive towards new tank mates ?

Are Blue powder tangs aggressive toward other new tangs , or all fish in general?

I was going to add my tangs to my new tank first, adding the powder blue last. Then add my other fish after I know all my tangs are healthy. I know ich can come along if they get stressed, but I think I feel more comfortable, knowing the chances are less likely, after I have them in for awhile, and feed good, etc.

So if I were to add clowns, cardinals, gobies, and maybe an angel, would the PBT be aggressive towards them since there not tangs, but added after him ?

IME, it depends on the fish. Generally speaking, yes, it will be aggressive to any similar fish (tangs, angels, butterflies, etc). Usually they'll leave small fish like wrasses and anthias alone. But, nothing is for certain. Mine never even looked at my yellow longnose butterflies, but hated my saddleback butterfly. It never pays any attention to anthias and wrasses, except it'll decide it hates my flame wrasse some days.

Mine seemed aggressive to new fish dependent on shape and size really.

Anthias, Bluejaw Trigger, Gobies, Aiptasia Eating Filefish.... all ignored completely.

Copperband, Longnosed Butterfly, any other tang...... Tried to completely destroy them.

My PBT is agressive to all/any new fish i put in...

To beat this, i got a 1foot square of mirror from a glass shop ($15 cash)

I put this on the side of the tank when I release the fish (as soon as I see the aggression issue)

The PBT wants to beat his reflect up much more than anything else that's going on... about 1or 2 hours later... he's tired of hitting himself and he's gotten his issues out...

I remove the mirror and that's it...

so far, worked every time (about 5 times)

How big a tank? IMO & IME, a tangs aggression increases in smaller tanks. Ich can't come along if t isn't there. Are you going to use a QT with the PBT and have other fish been run through a QT?

From the OP's other threads, it is a 90, and is already dealing (( and lost a couple of fish )) with ick issues.

I do hope you are going to wait until your 180 is up and running before adding the tangs. and that you QT and treat for ick. PBT's are notorious for ick... I also agree with previous replies... add the PBT LAST.

Mine attacks most newcomers and if it continues after about two days I'll remove it for a about a week or two.
