Has Anyone Ever Owned a Powdered Blue Grouper and What Was your Experience With it.I am Considering Buying one I have Owned Several Groupers and Still Have Some. But I have no Experince with this Type I could Use Some Advice Thank You.
They get around 3 feet, yes feet. Going to need one heck of a huge tank and deep wallet to keep it fed. Also don't expect any public aquariums to willing take it off your hands when it out grows your tank.
Wow 3 Feet Long That is Hugh HMMM That Maybe More then I care to Chew on For a Grouper. Thanks for the Advice Billsreef this Will Take more Thinking on My Part.I have Two Groupers in a 135 Gallon Tank, but none Will Get 3 Feet Long Wow:eek2: :eek2: .The powder Blue Grouper is Beautiful, but grows to the Size of a Great White Shark .
They grow really fast too It's one of the largest groupers around, though it doesn't get as large as the Goliath Grouper. Had a wholesaler once sub several of them on an order once. Took several months to find them appropriate homes, and I was giving them away. My friends at the local public aquarium just laughed at me when I tried pawning the last one off on them
:eek2: ThanksBills Reef I did Some Further Research on Them Last Night They can Grow 12 Inches in a Year. That is a Incredible Growth Rate for a Grouper none of My Current Groupers Will Grow over 12 Inches.I may Have to Pass on this one Seeing that I Dont Have a 300 Gallon Tank to Put Him Him .
I love those fish. There is one at the lfs where i work and he is just the coolest. I love to feed him. But it took him a little bit to learn my hand is not food.

Don't expect him to remember that lesson when he gets bigger
reefer334,
The Bumble Bee and Goliath Groupers are the two biggest IIRC. The Bumble Bee in the Pacific, and the Goliath in the Atlantic. I've dove with a Goliath Grouper that looked big enough to swallow a VW :eek1: It really makes you think to be in the water with a fish that big.
