Powder Blue Ich

Okay I read the threads here on ich I see that a QT is a must and I have one for such occasions but my problem is I am just unable to catch this darn fish. He is still grazing on rock but refuses any other food, even seaweed I put in. I have been doising some suplements to the water since yesterday (when I noticed the infection) to aid in fish immunity

My question is, is there any other way to treat the ICH in the display tank? I have no shrimp, have a large dersa clam, and a few snails as far as inverts go. I have not added any inverts due to a high no3 issue. I do have alot of LR, about 1-2" of sand, SPS, and some softies(shrooms, zoos, rics).

I have heard good things about the Cupramine by seachem? I also have the Coppersafe which is what I use in the QT but I have no way to catch the PBT?

Suggestions?

Treating ich on pbt is not the issue. Your pbt is stressed out due to overcrowdind or small tank. You should just wait it out and continue to try other food. You could add a bunch of cleaner shrimps, change water more often, and add uv to slow down the infestation.

I just did a massive water change a few days ago, been battkling these no3's that could be the cause. I just dont want the infection to spread and I can not catch him. To quick and smart.

No reasonable treatment but crushed chopped fresh garlic. some fish like it. it probably helps generate slime coat---but tangs have very little of that. If he's small it's probably not overcrowding per se, but remember these fish are wild-caught, have never been near sand in their lives, have rarely been solitary, and are spooked at being in such shallow water in brilliant light. He's freaked. I'd dim the lights, limit mh, shorten daylight period, offer garlic, and cross your fingers. The parasite is in your sand and rock or was to begin with, and nothing worse can happen to your tank now if you do nothing but garlic and lowered lighting.

There is a guaranteed way to catch him: massive and rapid dewater to clean Brute trashcan, landing him in small pool, equally fast rewatering, using a mag 18. No damage to corals.

He's never been in stale water in his life, either, so run some carbon, see if that can help him by removing organics and ammonia; and crank skimmer to max efficiency. It's not an infection: it's a parasite like potentially lethal fleas, and it now has infested your tank. Without fish for a host, like fleas, it will starve out in about 6-8 weeks.
