powder blue tang color

color intensity can ofetn be an indicator of health in PB tangs. If you see a PB tang in the wild, it is an intense blue with a jet black face. I know mood can often effect this condition, but pass on a PB that is grey.

yeh i also agree but it seems all the smallish specimens that go through the LFS seem to be grey ish from not liking the shops qt tanks, i got given one once when the shop said take him he wont make it here, he did recover but to the suprise of the shop and me!

Where do you get your PBT? It get stressed easily. Can it survive the shipping if purchased online? I have seen 2 powder blue tangs died from a 90 minutes drive back from a LFS.

I just put a smaller one in my 120 and it was freaked out/gasping for air. Didn't even give it time to aclimate/just though it in. Doing great now, good centerpiece fish eating very little though, Day 4.

yes they are very light coloured when at the store... mine was like that but right now its a nice solid blue as mentioned about but it does show some while strips when its mad at the purple tang... other than that he's nice and fat now... as long as the PBT is eating their chance of thriving are much better given that they are provided the right enviroment in your tank.
