Powder Blue Tang White Spots?

I have just aquired a powder blue tang and I have noticed that it has these little whit dots all over it. Fins and body. My cleaner shrimp has almost not stopped jumping of this fish. This is the only fish I have in the tank thus far. I have a very small clean crew in the tank.

Sounds like ICH....

What to do?

That is normal for those tangs. Make sure he has plenty of hiding spots, and feed him often. If he is being pickey then try soaking the food in a garlic extract, it will entice him to eat. Keep your water params in check and do small water changes once a week. The happier he is the better he will do.

Sounds as if you're new to saltwater.

Definitely sounds like a case of marine ich. PBT are almost always infected with ich, a fish in an aquarium across the state can sneeze and your PBT will start displaying signs of ich.

I QT all of my tangs in copper for 4 weeks before I put them in DT tank and no ich yet.....you might have to take him out and qt in copper or hyposalinity treatment if you have a reef tank.
