Powder Blue Tang

We acquired a Powder Blue Tang memorial weekend. Fish was quarantined in a 55 gal tank. It was eating Nori, mysis, formula 1 pellets (all soaked in selcon) like a pig. The fish was slowly getting skinny so I upped the feedings to 3 times a day and started wet skimming to help with the added nutrients. Nothing I did seem to make a change. Unfortunately the fish died on Sat. Didn’t see any parasites or notice any stringy feces so I’m at a loss as to why this fish withered away like this.

Could it be possible this fish was caught using cyanide?

Possibly caught with cyanide. May have had an internal parasite that prevented him from absorbing the nutrition from the food. I just looked at my books and it looks like cyanide causes a wasting a way even though fed well.
