Powder blue with white spotches.

My new powder blue has large white splotches on him. It is not ich and I though he was just getting beat on, but now I wonder if it could be some kind of parasite or something....

Not sure if you can see it in this picture or not.... it is mainly on the face and underside of the belly, his sides look good. He has been camping out in the rock very close to a large forest of kenya tree (maybe colt coral??) - could it be some kind of burn from the coral????

The face looks like the beginnings of HLLE. But that diagnosis doesn't line up with the splotches on the underside of the belly. It all could be coral stings or a bacterial infection of some sort. I would just continue to observe for now, see if it gets worse.

+1 If it isn't the start of HLLE; it will probably heal with time. Fish are tough.

I've never had a PBT, but if he's like my blue tang, he might get scratched up in the rock work when he's hiding or sleeping.
