Powder Brown Tang

I have a 180 that's been cycled for about two months now. I was told at the LFS that you should wait before adding a powder brown tang, until the tank is more mature.

I haven't found any info online that confirms this. I see they are a bit more prone to disease and can be less hardy, but nothing about waiting. Any input here?

As long as your tank is cycled go for it. Maybe it would be a good idea to introduce more docile fish before the powder brown though.

The reason they say for Tangs and Angels to be introduced into a mature tank is the fact that everything is established and stable (they are not very hardy). It has the right features and algae for the Tangs and Angels to graze on (both graze throughout the whole day). If you are able to feed it small amounts 2-3x a day, then I say go for it, but if not a mature tank will allow them to graze and get enough nutrient until that 1 feeding when you come home from work or whatever the case may be.
