Power heads at night????

I have a 20 gal coral reef tank. I have one powerhead.
I was wondering if I should turn my power heads off at night or leave running 24/7?

If you have just one, leave it running all night. The powerheads in my smaller tank are on 24/7. The Tunze pumps on my 75 go into night mode and stay at the lowest flow setting.

If you only have one powerhead I would defiantly leave it on. You need movement in the tank 24/7, you will get a lot of different suggestions on how much and if to turn some off at night. but if you only have one leave it on.

Fish need constant water movement to breath, if you shut it off and that is the only thing that is moving the water, your fish will die

Agreed the ocean current does not take a break to sleep but is continuous. Run it all night and day. That sounds like a catchy song title.
