My Haddoni got stuck in my MJ with the stock strainer on. Those things are like 1/16" slots I would say 1/4 is definately not anem safe.

i dont have one yet ... im just gathering info before i impulsively buy one... humm.. now i need to think of a way or find something to cover them holes better and not look ugly... at first i was thinking leg stocking ( for like little girls cuzz there smaller) and covering the shroud but it's probaly too small of holes and will clog to fast...any other ideas??

There's a couple threads going about what you can cover intakes with. There's sponges that you can ziptie on, as well as plastic cross stitch canvas (really cheap) that can be ziptied on.

i dint get a sponge with my MJ900 plus i dont think it can fit over a 2'' cuplin anyhow.. as for that needle point canvas .. ill look into .... dont know what or how it looks like but i have the net to search..

I found the plastic canvas at WalMart in their needle work section in crafts. I paid about 70c for a sheet of it. When people talk about an ounce of prevention instead of a pound of cure, this comes to mind!

Here's a pic of one of my overflows covered with the plastic mesh. You can see how close my nem decided to make a home!
There's another one on the other side of the tank too, covered in identicle fashion - I'm not taking any chances :)

We had to adjust the pump some, and my husband complained a little about it, but he has since admitted that it isn't that bad :) Percentage wise though, I'm not sure, he's doing homework right now so I don't want to interupt him.

If I remember to, I'll ask him later :)
