My power head makes bubbles in spurt like things and ive unpluged it and took the magnet and stuff out under water thinking there might be air trapped or sumthin, but nope still bubbles.

thanks for any advice.

I would shut the pumps off for 20min and let the bubbles settle out, then clear the PHs to make sure no air is trapped in them.

If the problem persists, then you are probably getting air into your water from somewhere else, possibly from the sump or a pin hole in the return line.

If it's certain that the micro-bubbles are coming from the powerhead and are not entering the tank from some other source, just let it keep running. The micro-bubbles are more of a visual nuisance than anything else and though you want to be sure to stop them eventually at their source, once a "slime" builds up naturally on the powerhead, it should completely stop producing them.

Mine do that sometimes. It makes you wonder where all the air could be coming from. I just turn them off and then rotate them in every direction underwater to release all the trapped air, it usually does the trick.

mine do this when they need to be cleaned. take them out, disassemble them and soak in hot water for bit. Always works for me.
