Powerhead upgrade

Hi Roger,

I have three powerheads, but only use two in the tank. I think all are 6100s, but the label on back of one of them says 7240.

Anyway, two are out of commission, and I will need to upgrade. I think you mentioned that I could send in a complete powerhead (w/ driver and transformer) and get a deal on the upgrade.

I'd like to start the transition, swap out one now and do the other in a month of two.

Will the new model work with my current controller - Neptune Aquasurf? How do I go about the exchange?

It would likely be 2 weeks before I would have more of the required upgrade kits which are a 6105 pump and power supply with an adapter clamp for the holders you have in place of the new magnet holder. It will work with any controller that works with the 6100.

You would just send in your pump with transformer and driver to:

It really is up to you, you can send it in and I will notify you when they arrive, or you could wait until I have the kits.

Looks like I need to order both at once after all. The remaining one shorted last night I think. Puck was burning hot and getting driver beeps, smelled burnt. I unplugged and picking up something small to hold me over... Any update if the new ones are in?

I don't have the kits in yet, I should get a delivery update later today or Monday.

If you were interested in this option, it sounds like this pumps driver failed, the motor may still be OK and it may be repairable.
