Powerhead with algae?

Hello, So I am 6 months into this amazing hobby and already upgraded my tank from a 5 gallon to a 20 gallon (I know...I'm small time). I unintentionally started this because we rescued a snail and now we are loving the saltwater life! My 20 gallon is only 3 weeks old. We put in a powerhead during the set up. We just transferred over the clown and snail. In just the last couple of days I am seeing a rust colored growth of some sort all over the powerhead. And now seeing it on the sand below and around the area of the powerhead. Is this algae? And why so quickly. Is this a problem? TIA

It's probably just Diatoms. Blooms like this are actually quite common for new tanks to go through.

Yay! Sounds like exactly what is happening!!! Thanks for the link. Now I just need to see if any of those clean up crew suggestions would be a good addition to help me keep this minimal and under control
