powerheads for a 220gal

So far I have 2 Koralia 4's running on my 220gal aquarium. I also have the sump return circulating water as well. Is a Koralia 8 magnum too much pump? What else should I do for circulation as far as Koralias go? Should I swap out one of the 4's for something higher? Ideally, I'd like to keep the two 4's and get one of the magnums, I just don't know which one. Thanks for your help.

This will be a reef tank in the future.

I'm by no way an expert on this, but I would feel pretty comfortable going with 2 K4's and 2 K8's with your set up, especially if it's going to be a reef tank with SPS in it. I would mount the K8's in the back sort of out of the way, as they are a little on the large side. Just for reference I'm planning on 2 MP40s and 4 K8's for my tank (500+G).

On my new 300 I am going with 2 K8's and 2 vortechs. My return pump will be powerful due to running manifolds for reactors, sterilizer, external skimmer and multiple returns. If this is not enough flow I can always add more powerheads.

Where will you put your k8s? and are the vortechs really expensive?

Since my tank is 3ft wide, I'm just going to put them on the back wall. Yes, Vortechs are sorta expensive, around $320 used for an MP40W, and $445 for a new MP40ES.

what type of coral are you keeping? I have a 200 gal SPS dominate tank and run (4) 6200 Tunze streams and (1) vortech. looking to drop another vortech in later this year.

I don't have any corals. I currently have a sandbed with about 40lbs of live rock. I am going very slowly at this point. I had cyano bacteria so I wanted to get more water movement.

In my 220 I have 4 k4s in the back and then 2 k3s near the sides on the back but toward the bottom. There is excellent movement throughout the tank. I see softies flowing in the movement and the sps all also flourish. I have thought about doing a pair of mp40es also and removing all but 2 k4s.
