powerheads in reverse

after going through a divorce i finally am going to try and set my tanks back up i just set my 90 up and after setting it up i finnd my powerheads are operating in reverse sometimes i have a smart wave hydor controller and 3 korila 1400 powerheads if i run them straight off an extension cord they work fine hook up to controller sometimes forward sometimes reverse i took the controller back to store they gave me a new one same thing could the controllers be bad (both?) or could there be domething else doing this any ideas? thanks

The outer shroud has a rubber stop that prevents this from happening. It's needs to be replaced and it's a flaw on their powerheads. email hydro and they will send you new parts for free cause they know it's a flaw. They will always continue to do this, it's just a matter of time. Finally just bought a jebo power head and will be finally getting rid of these hydro junks.

It most likely the PH they have been known to do that. There is a little tab on them that keeps them from going in reverse. I know there are some threads on this for more info do a search.

Koralias are known for doing this. There is a little peg that sticks out inside the front cover. When the prop starts up in reverse the blades make contact with the peg stopping the prop and forcing it to turn the other way. If this peg breaks(which they eventually all do) the prop is free to turn in any direction depending on the cycle of alternating current. This is usually the case with most AC motors. I know people that have the newer evelution s are contacting hydro and they are being sent replacement front covers free of charge

Don't bother to call as they will just tell you to email your contact info and powerhead parts needed. Just a heads up.

I called them at Hydor about my 2 powerheads pumping backwards, they sent me 4 heads with the bumper on it, right out and they have beeen fine since then
