Powerheads

I am looking to increase the flow in my 210 gallon fowlr. I am battling some cyano and I think its in part from having some dead spots. Currently, I have an Aqueon, and I plan on upgrading to 2 Tunze 6255 in the next 6-8 months. In the meantime I am looking for a cheap solution and was thinking of another Aqueon or going with a Hydor.

My question is which would you recommend: Aqueon 2400, Hydor Koralia 3rd gen 1950 or the Magnum 6?

Thanks.

Well.. Which Aqueon do you have now?.. and have you thought about a target flow range..
Typically people recommend between 30 and 100 times display volume for total flow rate in a reef aquarium.. The higher being for mostly SPS/High flow corals...

If its only temporary though just get the cheapest one..

Good luck with hoping cyano will clear from increasing flow.. Thats never been my experience..

I had the same issue and went with two Hydor Koralia 3rd gen 1950's and problem solved. Set them on each side-one a little higher than the other.

Thanks for your responses. The cyano started in the corner farthest from the powerhead, so I'm hoping. If that doesn't work I will try covering the tank for 3 days.
