Just my opinion, but I wouldn't wait till Friday. I'd hit them again within the next day or two. The whole point of the second dose is to get the "second generation" from the eggs left behind before they can lay eggs of their own. And everything I've read has stated that you only have a 5-7 day window to achieve this.

Good info! Even if fish stop eating while PP is in the tank, its no big deal. Any fish can go several days without eating; that's about as long as PP stays active.
Copper is another issue. When fish stop eating because of copper, that's the first sign of copper tolerance and the copper should be reduced, then slowly increased back to the proper dosage when fish start eating again.
IMO & IME, PP is the safest med on the market. I've never seen, or heard of, serious problems caused by PP. Of course, someone, somewhere has had a fish croak while being treated with PP and the PP will be blamed. If the stuff is really reef-safe, and it is, fish aren't going to see any serious consequences. I've dosed PP (or its active ingredient, praziquantel ) literally hundreds of times and have never seen any serious reaction by any fish.
Just did a 40 gallons water change, add carbon, and turn the skimmer back on. I will do the 2nd treatment Wednesday night. All the fishes seem ok. I plan on doing a hyposalinity treatment afterward too.
I know this is a very old thread... But I've lost 2 fish this week, I've hardly lost any fish since starting this hobby in 2004 so this has me baffled... They were scratching a little bit but no visible signs of ich or anything else. Today, I have been watching my purple firefish slowly become weaker and weaker... I finally saw some things hanging from his gills so I researched and did a freshwater dip... The container was a white bucket so it was hard to tell, but I'm pretty sure I saw some things left behind in the water.. The fish actually tolerated it really well... Anyway.... I keep researching and came across this thread... Went to my LFS and bought some prazi pro.. Didn't know if I would use it or not, but in the end I decided to try it.... I dosed 1 tsp to 20 gallons... Turned off my aquamaxx HOB skimmer, and left my aquaclear hob filter and 2 nano koralia running... It's been about an hour and so far everything is fine except some mushrooms are pretty angry. I'm most worried about leaving my skimmer of for 5 days. Is it really necessary to wait the complete 5 days before doing a water change and turning it back on??? Will post again of any other observations.
