Prazipro and Hypo compatibility?

I have a blackcap basslet in QT. Noticed white spots that looked like ich after a week, and lowered the salinity. It has been in hypo almost 2 weeks.

Now, the fish has white stringy poop, and I would like to dose with Prazipro.

Is there any problem dosing Prazipro in hypo?

You can use praziquantel equally in feshwater or marine, so hypo is no problem (see below though).

The problem that I see is dosing prazi when the symptom is stringy feces....that can be bacterial or protozoal, so prazi wouldn't be of any benefit. Even if it is internal metazoan parasites, prazi in the water isn't very effective (that treatment is designed for external trematodes). Remember that the only effectiveness of prazi in the water for internal worm infections is IF the fish drinks the water while osmoregulating. Marine fish kept in hyposalinity drink little, if any water (depending on the specific gravity used).

Thanks for the direct feedback on my question.

The rest of your reply, however, give me little guidance on what to do. I have read tons of posts on stringy poo, and the general consensus is to treat with Prazi.

Is there some way to narrow down what treatment I should be using?

sg is currently 1.09--has been for 12 days. Temperature is 80. The fish is eating a little, but not a lot. Sometimes it will gum the food, and then spit it out. I am feeding frozen mysis. Sometimes the fish will stretch its mouth out like it is yawning.
