Prazipro in DT

Wanna be a reefkeeper
If treating a display tank with Prazipro, is there a different regimen used vs treating a QT?

Dosage/strength?

Number of days treatment without skimmer/carbon?

How many days before running carbon?

Is a 50% water change required if there are zero ammonia and zero nitrates at end of treatment? It would seem that the carbon would be sufficient.

I just went thru a PraziPro treatment on my DT. I used the recommended dosage on the bottle. Removed carbon and turned off skimmer. After 3 days I did about a 33% WC and put the carbon back in. It took a bit longer for the skimmer to get to a point where it wasn't going crazy, but I would let it run for a few hours each day until it was back to normal.

Yep, just follow the dosage on the back of the bottle. You can hit it with a stronger dose later if whatever you are treating appears to be surviving.

If you have wrasses I would only treat them at 80% of the recommended dosage, they seem to have a difficult time with PraziPro at full strength.

I started a full dose in the DT today and so far, so good. I'll report back my progress as the days go on. Thanks all for the feedback and suggestions.

Successfully did this on my dt recently, skimmer off and carbon removed, 5 day treatment 30% wc on the 5th day, another dose of prazi for 5 days.

On the 10th day a 50% wc, added a filter sock, skimmer and lots of carbon which exhausted pretty quick. The stuff makes your skimmer go pretty wild.

I did a large dose of prazi to be sure though, I had to avenge my royal gramma

I did 2 rounds, the 2nd one coming 4 days after the first one. Carbon and Gfo was off, skimmer was on, but took the cup off. Then did my weekly 10% water change.

I did 1 round at full strength because I believed my Radiant Wrasse had flukes. No issues whatsoever to anything (other than 1 coral looking "thin" for a few hours but bounced back very quickly).

I'm a day into the treatment at full strength in the DT and have no negative issues to report. I have one wrasse in the mix of nine fish and they all seem to be doing fine. No appetite or behavior issues.

Thanks all for sharing your experiences.
