PraziPro not working?

so I've had this 125 running for 4-5 months now. I QTed 2 tangs together and got rid of ich. I put them both in the tank after treatment and saw the yellow still didn't look right. I dosed PraziPro and everything seemed to go back to normal. I did the first dose, waited five days and dosed again. then I did the water change and ran carbon.

I then bought 3 Bartlett anthias and had them in QT. they were eating and acting fine so I put them in the main tank. a week or two later I realize that one of them has string poo (but this didn't happen in the QT ever). so I dosed Prazipro again. this time I dosed and 7 days later dosed again. this brings us to two weeks ago.

I have no done the big water change yet, I just ran the skimmer to see what would happen. my cheato which never grew is now doubling in size every few days, my nitrates are dropping and everything seems to be doing great....until yesterday.

I noticed that one of the anthias now has string poo and the powder blue tang rubs the sand (for the most part at night) every once and a while. what the hell could this be? 2 cycles of prazi pro should of killed anything in the tank no? what else could I do? am I just worried about nothing? idk what's going on haha. I know fish sometimes rub on things so maybe the PB is ok, but what about the anthias?

You could try adding metronidazole to their food. This will take care of the internal parasite. As for the scratching some fish do that...I think it's just to aggravate their owners;) If you are concerned that it could be flukes do a freshwater dip and see if anything comes off. Did you turn off the skimmer while dosing Prazi?

yeah the skimmer was off the whole time. I really doubt I'll be able to catch anything in this tank. I've yet to try, but it was hard enough getting them out of the QT. I've herd about the food meds, but I am worried that some fish won't eat enough of it.

I would redo prazipro for 3 treatments 5 days apart. I went through a similar situation with dosing prazipro twice and fish were still sick. I think that the flukes were at different stages and somehow the eggs didn't hatch all together or some lasted until the prazipro left the system. With. Me after the 3rd consecutive dose the flukes went away.

I think you are dosing incorrectly, no offense.

Prazipro is a 1 week treatment. You dose once in day 1, do a water change in day 3/4 and redose again. You have to make sure you vac the gravels etc.

Just because ich isn't visible yet, doesn't mean it isn't there. I remember your previous threads, and these bartletts appeared healthy, so you added them to the DT without treatment despite advice that was given. They could have easily carried ich into the system, and being the most susceptible the PBT is the first to show signs. Watch carefully.

The white stringy poo is another issue, and prazipro can resolve that if/when it is a symptom of flukes. Seeing how the prazi doesn't seem to be working, I would address that issue separately with an internal dewormer like pure praziquantel dosed food, or Paracide-X from National Fish Pharmaceuticals.

I would think an outbreak would of happened already if ich was in the tank. something would have shown signs by now.

as for the medication do I have to worry about how much the fish eat if I go that route? can they eat too much of it?
