Some one please help me. I just recently bought a Tenneti Tang from the awesome pet store i work at. It wasnt flashing at the store bc i was always checking it out while working. Now in my tank for about a week he is starting to flash. i am wanting to say some gill fluke or parasite. his stomach is also starting to cave in and he is eating all the time. also going to the top all the time. only thing for treament i can think of is Prazipro. But i have a reef tank with a cleaner shrimp and a pistol shrimp, crabs and snails. Will the prazipro kill the tank or will i be alright? please help me. dont want to loose this fish. it was expensive.

You have a Lieutenant Tang in a 29 gallon cube?

I wouldn't do it myself, and it doesn't state this on the label, but many have dosed Prazi in invert tanks with no problems. If you fish has internal parasites as well it will need to be medicated with a proper internal parasite med which I believe is harmful to inverts.

no i just recently got a 125 reef all for free. sold the bio-cube. we treat our tanks all the time with prazipro when we see these signs and it always helps. i am just nervous about putting it in with my corals and shrimp.

I have used prazipro with live rock that had mushrooms, pods, small feather dusters and it didn't bother any of those.

Thanks for the info biger. I had talked to my boss about it and he also said i should be alright using it. did you do a large water change after wards due to possible die off of flatworms and bristleworms?

For flukes I do a 50% water change then dose per instructions on bottle, wait 5 days, do another 50% water change then another dose per instructions, wait 5 days then u can do another water change or just use carbon to remove any die off. Prazipro shouldn't hurt ur bristleworms either.

general cure has both metro and prazi in it and is a good all around treatment. i have used it in my reef tank without any bad affects.
