Praziquantel Dosing

Hi,

As PraziPro isn't available in the UK, I've got an alternative source of Praziquantel.

Is the dose of 2.5mg/l listed for PraziPro for pure Praziquantel?

My QT is ~75L and the medication I have is 50% Praziquantel.

I make it then that I'd need 187.5mg.

That's such a small amount, I'm pretty sure I couldn't measure it successfully!

As such, I'm thinking of diluting 1g of the product I have (which they provide a measuring scoop for, and should be easy to measure) in 1L of RO which will give me 0.5g/l and so 500mg/l.

So, the 187.5mg I need would be just 375ml of my solution which will be far easier for me to measure.

Does this seem right to everyone?

Will the solution keep OK for me to use in future for a second treatment (room temp or refrigerate) or should I bin the rest of the solution and make up fresh next time I need some?

Praziquantel is insoluble in water, so you will likely need to dissolve it in ethanol to make a usable solution. I personally have never done this, so hopefully another member with experience will chime in.
