Prefilter Sponge on Return Pump Inlet?

Hello everyone,

I have a micro bubble problem that, because of the design of the Elos sump, I don't have a good solution for. My plan is to install a 3/4" bulkhead strainer on the inlet of my Sicce 2.0 return pump and surround the strainer with prefilter sponge material from PA. I'll swap out the prefilter material every few weeks to keep it from becoming too much of a nitrate factory.

Should this work?

That should work very well assuming thats where the mb's are being introduced. Just be on top of washing or changing it.
