i have a pregnant cleaner shrimp, what do i do? do i need to take her out and put her in a quarentine tank, leave her alone?? what do i do???

Unless you plan on raising the larvae, just leave her in there. When she releases the babies, it will be a treat to all the fish and corals. It's sad, but just nature.

thanks travis, i appreciate your reply. I didnt know if it was typical for someone to take it out and try to raise them or just let nature do its thing. i know cleaner shrimp arent cheap in LFS's so i wasnt sure what i should do. I'll just leave them alone. thanks again!!

First get a dna test, then if they are your's you better get a good lawyer and start a college fund ASAP.

dugg now that you mention the DNA test, the milkman has been stoping by alot to check on the milk quality. I think he's been checking other quality too!!! Im going to need my Pre Paid Legal!!

jpitts, if I get time today, I'll dig around the Advanced Topic forum about breeding and raising shrimp. I'll also try to get in contact with Dr. Frank Marini or can at least let you know how to talk to him.

If you decide to raise the larvae or they happen to make it past all the hungry corals and fish, let me know, I would like to purchase some babies.

That is pretty good.

And for my OTCOTD, I'd like to say that the forums are just boiling today. I can't keep up with the updated threads! And I have REAL WORK todo, to! :)

I say give it a try raising them. I would love to take some off of your hands! If they die, you gain nothing. If they live, $ + the satisfaction of being able to raise a new species...
