Pressurized CO2 in a reef tank?

Hello everyone! I've seen breathtaking pictures of GORGEOUS reefs that have pressurized CO2, I know its very commonly used in freshwater planted tanks, but what does it do for a reef tank? I mostly see them on 75-125 gallon reef tanks. I've also seen a few on 30 gallon reef tanks.

Used for a calcium reactor. The CO2 lowers the pH of the incoming water, and the water is passed over crushed coral media, which slowly dissolves, dosing calcium and alkalinity to the display.

Its use in marine systems is very different from their use freshwater systems. In FW systems, it's pumped directly into the tank to "feed" the plants. In marine systems, it's never pumped directly into the tank and is used in calcium reactors.

In marine systems, it's never pumped directly into the tank . . .

Unless it is being used in a planted marine tank in which case some people are dosing CO2 directly to feed the algae. ;)
