i am not lecturing you, i am just making a suggestion that 12 fish is to much for a 30g tank no matter how small they are.
High-Fin Goby =2"
Watchman goby 4-6"
engineer goby 1" minimum tank size 55g
Tomato Clown 5"
Tail Spot Blenny 2 1/2"
Clown Goby 1 1/2"
Court Jester 2 1/2"
Hector's goby 3"
green clown gobies 1 3/4"
Gobies will rarely become aggressive towards other fish, but will fight with its own kind in smaller tanks. look at how many gobies you had in one 30g tank. a good rule of thumb is 1" per 5 gallons with normal filtration you can overstock with an oversized skimmer.

The engineer goby will reach about a foot long... I'm sure that's jus a typo...
A lot of folks get offended by the info they receive when it's in regards to a problem theyve been having... 99+% of the time it's given to help... Not one of those fish stay about half an inch...
A nice dwarf angel, and a small wrasse, and one small Blenny or two would be a nice little group... Something along those lines... And use of a good skimmer is always best IMO...

oh I'm not offended by any means, I'm fully aware of the full-grown size of my fish lol. My engi goby is just about an inch at this time. The stocking list is fine if I did water changes weekly like I was for the first month, which is why it got out of control when I lost the time to manage the tank.

:headwallblue: Sorry Gmate, but man, you're just wrong. Your stocking list is not fine with weekly water changes. It wouldn't be fine with daily water changes.
Maybe with some heavy duty chemical filtering, it'd be fine.
I have a 75 gallon system (55 display, 20 sump) and I don't even have half as many fish as you do. I've got two perc clowns, 3 yellowtail damsels, an engineer goby (who will outgrow my system), and a flame angel and I'm actually pushing things and have to be really careful.
There are some super experienced people on here. Getting offended when you receive advice is really counterproductive and will prevent you from growing in the hobby. :hmm2:

you have alot to learn... it was a ticking time bomb sorta speak... and you would need a lot longer than a month to show any sort of success with that method/livestock...
your best interest would be to start stocking properly, and i think you will find this hobby to be much more rewarding...

Might be worth considering adjusting the lighting schedule so that the tank is lit up while you're home to enjoy it. The livestock won't mind if you light it up from 4pm-midnight instead of 9-5, or whatever hours you're working.
