i took a drive down to tavernier to check out this place

http://www.sealifeinc.net/catalog/index.php you can order online but i setup a time to meet him at his location.

Ken was a pretty cool guy and had tons of ricordias, zoas, gorgonians, and other inverts. really cool fish and best of all great prices.

i picked up some blue zoas, neon blue zoas, and an orange rock anemone. He also threw in four free frags, in my opinion a pretty nice place to pick up some frags. particularly blues.

jmho,
jess

Jess, make sure you put the blues in as much flow as you can. I bought from Ken and Lynn many times and lost at lot by not having enough flow over them. He told me that at the location they get them from, the current is so strong, they can barely hold on.

ok thanks for the advice. He didn't have t hem in really strong flow in the setup he had them in, and most where opened. I'll try the strong flow and lower and compare the two. liked there setup, lots of nice stuff there.

I wanna see pics. I remember diving in the keys with my FSU dive classmates, and one of them I knew as a local SPS reefer up here. When we dove he found a bunch of blue zoanthids and was talking about them on the boat. I wish I saw them, so now I wanna see yours so next time I know what I'm looking for!

ok here is one pic of some blue zoas i got. kinda a crap pic obviously. they still need a chance to fully acclimate and become comfortable. also i rearranged them and glued to a rock since they where held together by rubble.

I didn't get any rics but he has pretty much every color under the rainbow. yellow, orange, blue, green, super green, purple, and others.

They look really nice! What is the name of those green ones behind them? I've got some that look like that, but much smaller polyps, and with a little more yellow towards the centers.

i don't know, i got them from julioperez. he sold me the colony and i stuck em to the rock and they have done well.

one of the freebies

I never had a gorgonian, it seems happy so far w/ good polyp extension

I heard they have good stuff and there LR looks amazing, but there web site never has the "good stuff". I am down for a drive there one saturday, maybe a little group of us and take the drive check them out.

when i say good stuff i don't mean exotic named stuff like other sites. I just mean some nice pretty stuff that is real colorful. best part is that he told me what has faded while he has had em and what stuff is holding its color well. I felt he was an honest guy and i was happy to support him.

a better pic of one of the frags i picked up yesterday

Lookin good! Jess I meant when you go to the website or there ebay auctions there colors are really dull and it seems like the pictures of the zoanthids/ ricordeas have been the same since I started going to the site months ago. So whenever I go to there web site I always see the same colors and corals. Those blues you got look amazing so thats why I was surprized that you got those there. They should update there picture so we can really see what they are selling.

I am jelous, I want neon blue zoanthids! lol

-Matt

PS/ the other ones looks great as well.
