preventing infection on frags/fragged colonies

What's the best way to help prevent an infection on the fragged end of an SPS colony? Not worried so much about the frag, since the "open" end is usually covered in epoxy or glue.
Swab Lugol's? Always wondered what putting a drop of super glue gel over the end would do. Would it retard new growth or simply be grown over?

just leave it be.. if the colony is healthy it should heal over in a few days.. placing glue on the colonies fragged end will result in having to grow up and over and around the glue, thus taking a whole lot longer than just healing over.. if its healthy it will heal fairly quickly..
