Are any of you guys spawning these fish? I have a pair spawning, and I wonder what would be good to feed the larvae. Rotifers are too small, and I need something that I can produce in good enough numbers to get the larvae through metamorphosis. I think that a pelagic copepod nauplii would work,but what one?

Rotifers are too SMALL? Or do you mean not small enough?
If it's that rotifers are not small enough, have you tried S or SS strains? Maybe in combination of straining for size? Culturing copepods requires a lot more time and room than rotifers; straining rotifers to only feed the small ones might be easier for you.

My couple regularly spawns, but unless I have more experience with percula and premnas I dont even try.

if you need something between rotifers and NHBS then yep you need to look at copepods, how much you need to rely on them will depend on how fast they grow, you might try playing with the temps raise it to get them to grow into NHBS faster then lower it to let them catch up. expect that to take a few runs and except that it might not do the trick.

I tried a few spawns on S/SS type rotifers with nano and tetraselmis, and none made it past day 6 or so. The larvae are really small, smaller and thinner than orchid dottybacks. Stopped trying for a while but will go back to them one day when I have a bit more time.
I believe U of Florida did get them to start on ciliates (?). Can't remember if they said they got them past meta or not.....

My circus goby larvae hatched last night, and they are very small! 2 - 3 times the size of baby brine shrimp. I made a larvae snagger and collected a good number of them, but all I have are rotifers as of now. I have them in a green water - rotifer mix and I do not expect a good survival rate. I will have some copepods for them soon, and by next hatch they might have a better food source. I HOPE!!! Sooner or later I will get it right.
