Pro Bio S

Thank you for the sample of Pro9 Bio S in the bucket of Reef Salt. I'm trying to decide if it's use would have value in a tank where carbon dosing to reduce nitrate and phosphate is not necessary.

In the guide it states "ProBioS protects your tank against pathogenic organisms." Could you elaborate on this?

I'm assuming the bacterial strains in Pro Bio S will out compete pathogenic strains that cause RTN etc. If so do you feel this would be beneficial in a tank that doesn't employ carbon dosing (-NP Pro).

Thanks,
Rob

Pro Bio S reducing Nitrate and Phoshpate - to works efficiently it need carbon source - for example -NP Pro.

Ofcourse - if You dont have to use -NP Pro You Can use Pro Bio S only.

I was actually hoping to find out if you felt there was any benefit from Pro Bio S beyond nutrient reduction. Specifically with regards to the statement "ProBioS protects your tank against pathogenic organisms" from the guide.

Looking to introduce strains of bacteria that interact more directly with corals in a positive way, that wouldn't otherwise be available in our closed systems.

Pathogenic organisms its like all bad bacterias.
Dosing Pro Bio S - good bacteria will grow and remove bad bacteria (dinoflagellates, cyanobacteria.... )

Okay, thanks.

Have you done any research into replenishing the the beneficial bacteria strains that live in and on corals? I would think this would be an area that would really improve coral health with the reduction of pathogenic bacteria. Perhaps reducing the instance of RTN etc.
