I am noticing today that my temp in my display is at 78.5 - 79.5 deg F and I have my heater set for 77 F but the light on the plug that tells you if its on or not says that my heater is on and heating the water. I've tried to unplug and replug - tried a different outlet - it almost seems like it is stuck on - even if I dial down to 65 or the lowest stting the light still stays on -

Now unless I misunderstand what that little light is for :)

I have a coralift thermometer at the moment untill my Aqua Jr come teusday and I can controll the heater better.

Just thought I would see if someone else has had this issue before.

They have two lights. The red light is the power-on indicator. The green light is the heater-on indicator.
At least, that's how my 500 watt heaters work.
Also, make sure the temp. probe is in the water.

I know one store stopped carying these heaters locally due to the fact that after about a year to 2 years they go bad and cook aquariums. and the percentage of bad to good ones is not good.

good luck I'd pull it now :)
