Probido

I tried it because all the reveiws were so good. To me it didn't work any better than reef complete and reef plus. I'm not a fan of glass containers and I cut my finger on an ampule. It seems like good stuff just hard to deal with. If you want totry it I'll bring what I have left to the next meeting and you can have it.

reef complete and reef plus are totaly diffrent princples then probibio..with prodibio your adding a live bacteria and giving it food....which in turns keeps your nirtrient levels very low....i have had good results with it and i feed my fish very heavy!!!!
i told myself i would give it 6 mos trying it out and i have been happy with it

thats good to hear since i ordered some today. I spoke with the reps at MACNA about it, and listened to them for a good hour talk about it. My original intention was to see others who had tried it. Its good to know that you had good results from it.

Sure is cheaper than the ZEO method, or even Marin Fauna

lol

lol

lol I like this part of the website

The rapid development of the aquarium hobby, especially reef and marine aquariums, confirms that man is in search of a successful and naturally balanced aquarium.

yeah thats quite a website they have put together!

you guys will probably find out 10 years from now

that its basicly goat urine

kinda like your kent marine supplements eh? Dont you wish you could dillute medical iodine in distilled water and make millions on it?

I am still trying to understand the meaning in the goat urine comment

The goat urine comment reminded me of a funny story. Somebody had walked into Aquarium Concepts and wanted to start a sw tank. When Jesse told him how much live rock was, theguy asked if there was a cheaper way to cycle his tank. Jesse told him to p### in it. I really miss him and his sense of humor. BTW the guy ended up buying the rock.

he allways had a way with words

the fundamental difference between "great colour and low nutrients" systems and "bacterioplankton filtration" systems is carbon limitation. While the "great colour and low nutrients" systems are both carbon and nitrogen limited, "bacterioplankton filtration" systems are only nitrogen limited. It's quite possible (but not inevitable) that small doses of a simple sugar (a carbon source) in combination with small doses of your favorite acetate salt (an electron donor) would increase bacterial metabolism involving N-compounds, and enrich the microbiota associated with corals (the holobiont).

The process of comparison and contrast between bacterioplankton reefkeeping strategies, and more classic reefkeeping strategies is difficult to do. The fundamental difference bewteen the two styles (to say nothing of the difference in technology choices) produces synergies (variable interactions) which are almost impossible to sort out in a way that is useful to all reefkeepers, regardless of strategy.

But the process which compares and contrasts similar bacterioplankton methodologies holds the promise of being of use to all reefkeepers ... just as the "compare & contrast" process has been so valuble to BB, SSB, and DSB Berlin-style reefkeepers.

a few qoutes from a very similar discussion that i think are very relevant here.....

but if someone told me to p*** in my tank i dont think i would be asking him any other questions.....i dont think i would get a "laugh" out of it!

everyone laughs about that, but I have heard him first hand say that to someone. only he told them to put a shot glass full in, but still. I agree with Charlie, that is a little odd.

On the subject of Prodibio, I am really excited to try it. I read several posts on a European forum about its successes

odd?????

hmmm i wonder if thats one of the reasons why he has been spoken off in past tense?

Ok i ordered my ozone unit Charlie, I got the one with the controller built in. I didnt want to waste time and kill my tank over a 100 dollar controller

we will see how it turns out. I also ordered a 4 bulb t5 retro that i am going to put in my canopy, and run the halides alot less time during the day...Paul has me hooked on those t5's
