Probiotic Salt with Zeomix.

I read the AF guide, but I could not find the explanation if I can use Probiotic salt with ZeoMix. The guide did not explain which system you should use ZeoMix.

Yes,
Absolutely, in fact, many users run with Probiotic salts the following for advanced nitrification and de-nitrification.
1. Zeo Mix
2. Biological media such as AF Life Bio Fil, siporax, matrix, media block
3. AF Carbon
4. AF Phosphate Minus

To maintain the Probiotic method, you would use daily 1 drop per 100 liter(27 gallons) Pro Bio S(bacteria source) and NP Pro(carbon source) to maintain low nutrient values. Use of Zeo Mix is especially effective with mature reefs and large fish populations. Many have moved to the "Stack Method" by stacking the following medias in order from bottom to top, in a single fluidized reactor. AF Zeo Mix, then AF Carbon, then AF Phosphate Minus. The flow rate is determined by the Phosphate Minus tumbling gently, but to not escape the reactor.
Cheers

Thank you very much.
It does not look like ZeoMix is must item for AF probiotic system.
I was surprised you can use ZeoMix along with Phosphate absorb media which Zeovit does not recommend.

I read in the different thread that you do not have to shake the ZeoMix. Is it correct?

Hi,
I think AF Phosphate Minus is rather gentle, as is the whole Probiotic based system including Zeo Mix. Yes, it is correct that the Zeo Mix does not require shaking :)
Cheers

Do I need to rinse the zeo mix and phosphate minus? If yes can I just use running tap water?

TIA

Phosphate Minus does not require rinsing, however I still do with RODI. I soak the Zeo Mix in RODI for a few hours, then rinse several times with RODI before use.
