Problem on 7096

I just got the new 7096 yesterday. I downloaded the new software online, hook up one 6101 and worked fine. today, I hook up the second pump and software does not recognize it. what's wrong?

second question is Will tunze safety connector work on Stream 6101?

Thanks.

Yes the safety connector works with the 6101. My guess would be the cable for the pump is bad or the connection is loose.

the cable can not be bad. I switched the pump and cable and it worked fine. at this point, the only thing was the USB cable is too long? but it can't be since it worked the day before.

I am puzzled can you clarify what the problem is? The pumps do not have to be connected to program the controller. Are you unable to program it, or is it programmed and the pump is not functioning? If you didn't program the channel the pump is on then it would be at 0% and not run.

device not recognized with HP laptop, windows vista and with the newest software downloaded from tunze.com.

Open two instances of the program or try a shorter USB cable, I don't believe the new version with a longer USB connect time is online yet. We have to extend the time Vista waits for a return signal from the controller before it gives up.

I will buy a shorter usb cable today but how do we extend the time from windows vista?

There is a way to do it manually but I am far from an expert on Windows. I would just wait for the new version, it should be available very soon. For now, opening two instances of the program and or a shorter cable will definitely get it working.

bro Emdy. Try to see if you plug any other usb in your laptop, like wireless mouse. It will not recognize the tunze until you disconnect all the usb devices. Second is the USB slot, sometime you can plug in wrong way because it can plug in either way.

I am sorry about that, our goal was to include the longest possible USB cable that can work without an amplifier so you could have maximum range from the tank to a computer. This was an unintended consequence and the software will be tweaked to make the delay longer and it will be a free download. It does tend to work fine with many computers but small variables of cable resistance and USB power output mean it sometimes doesn't work.
