Problem with 6305

Hi,

I bought a Tunze 6305 from a friend (who bought it at Sewatec.de). The pump itself are about 1 year old, maybe a little bit more.

Anyway, the pump suddenly stopped a few days ago, by an unknown reason. I've tried to dissamble it and clean it with some vinegar, but it didn't help. It just starts and stops by it owns.

I've also tried with another power supply, but it didn't help.

Can you help me?

It's quiet an emergency, because the pump is the main pump in my tank.

Sincerely,
Ken.

Ken,

I did get your email regarding this problem and I forwarded it to the office in Germany since a part must be replaced and they are the closest service center, I am sorry they have not replied yet. My best suggestion for an urgent problem is to call them 49-8856-2022.

Thanks for the help, Roger.

Anyway, I receive the this pump several weeks ago after reparation, but haven't used it until today. The pump is working fine now. However, it's really noisy. way louder than it used to be. Actually, it's so bad that I have to slow the pump down to the lowest speed.
I've tried to disassemble and assemble it again, but it's not helping.

What's wrong?

It's getting quite irritating now. I've paid over 600 euros for this pump, but it sure has given me a lot of problems though.

Ken.

Noise is mechanical in origin, so we need to look to the drive unit and basic assembly. The usual causes will be a front housing that is not completely clicked in or a shaft that is slightly bent or a bushing or disk that has been omitted. If these parts were changed, it may just be that they need to wear in, the noise is always loudest at first and they quiet down after 2 weeks or so of use. The only other possibilities could be if the magnet holder is missing the rubber feet or the pump is contacting the glass on the side.

Hi again,

I've checked everything you mentioned. The front housing is completely clicked on and the bushing and disk is in the motorblock.

I will give it a few more days, but the problem seems to lie in the drive unit.

Thanks,
Ken.

Is the motorblock the new version with the fixed shaft or the older style with the shaft that can be removed? If it is the older style shaft, my best guess is the shaft is bent, for the newer fixed shaft, my best guess would be they left out the 3005.740 disk or the drive unit has some small blemish or piece of plastic or debris between the drive unit and shaft.

It's the older style. The shaft can be removed.

I would remove the shaft completely so you have it alone with no disk or bushings and roll it on a table, if it is flat and rolls smooth with no bow, it is OK, then the problem is probably with the magnet, maybe some small defect is in the hole in the middle so it rubs or wobbles.

Hi again,

I've also tried that today. But the shaft seems to roll smooth to me.

What now?

I am sorry I missed your last reply, I am in US and cannot do more than answer a question. Please contact Tunze in Germany, likely you need a new drive unit to solve the problem. I would call, they just got back from Interzoo and would be very behind, you will get an answer fastest if you call.

I finally got responded from Tunze in Germany.
Many thanks to you Roger.

Anyway, which and how many pumps do you think is sufficient for my tank (SPS dominated)?
Dimensions are: 220 L x 75 D x 58 H (cm).

I was thinking about 4 x 6105. And how should I program the flow through my 7095?

One more thing; is it possible to buy the 6155 pump without the magnet?

Thanks again,,
Ken.
