Problem with new vortechs

Three weeks ago I purchased two vortechs from marindepot. One of the pumps looked used. It had markings that appeared to be paint scratches, and the packaging looked as if it had been previously opened. I immediately called marinedepot and got an RA#. However, I neglected to return the item at that time. I figured that as long as it worked I really didn't care and I was planning to test it out within a matter of days.

Well, i ended up getting tied up with other obligations and never got to test it until this weekend. It turns out that it was indeed defective. Firstly, the power supply is faulty. It causes the propeller to stall at high speeds. When swapped with the power supply on the working unit, the problem is alleviated. Secondly, it is excessively noisy; much, much more than the other unit. Upon dissasembly, it turns out that one of the spacer pins was completely destroyed. I would like to get a replacement ASAP and I am afraid that my marinedepot RA# has expired.

I really like the working pump, and am really excited to use it. Can you guys help me out? Thanks.

EJ Coral-

I am not familiar with Marine Depot's return policy but I suppose it is possible that a returned pump may have slipped back in to their inventory, thus creating you this problem.

Regardless please contact us at service@ecotechmarine.com and we'll inspect your pump and get it running the way it should be, or replace it outright.
