Problem with overdisplay fuge

I have plummed a refugium to gravity feed my main display. Since it is low flow, and i dont have alot of room over my tank, I drilled the 40 gal fuge on the back glass close to the top. I then hard plummed it to the main display.
My problem is, even with the low flow, bubbles come out of the drain in the display tank. I thought by making it deeper, this would eliminate the problem but I'm still getting bubbles.
Is there some sort of bubble trap I could put on the end, or should I just use a sponge or something?
I thought of stuffing the end with a round sponge but I'm worried I might overflow the fuge!
Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Waldo

well think about it. If you put a sponge whats the point of the refug. I would think to use some sort of over the top overflow with the air lifter. the air lifter would make sure that you have constent flow. or create some sort of long slide effect. I think your problem is the splash thats where your problem is. is it? not sure your setup but if the refung is on on side of the tank use flex pvc and deposit in the other side use as much pvc that you can and have it end 1/2 under the serface of the tank.

I'm not completely sure I understand where the problem is coming from but would a P-trap (like under your sink) take care of the probem? It would fill up with water and any bubbles would disapate on the fuge side.
