Problems target feeding

I've been trying to nurse back a candycane that I got a week or so ago. I've not been able to catch it with it's feeders out. I have tried feeding it small mysis with a pair of tweezers. The mouths open within seconds of the shrimp touching them, but they can't hold onto it. I've only successfully fed one polyp. I've tried targeting them with cyclopeeze to get the feeders out with no luck. I'm having the same problem feeding an small brain that I've got. What am I doing wrong?

Do the feeder tentacles come out at night? Thats when mine fully extend and I feed them then... I acually JUST fed mine less than 5 minutes ago! Have you turned your pumps off when targeting? My canes almost always extend their tentacles just a couple minutes after the pump goes off.

Since I've gotten it I set my alarm to wake me up a couple times throughout the night and haven't been able to catch it with it's tentacles out yet. Same thing with the pumps off. I had them off for about 1/2 hour last night trying to feed it but nothing. The funny thing is that the mouths open up immediately but they don't extend their feeders to grab the food. My tank is so screwed up, lol.
