Prodibio biodigest with vodka

Hi friends,
I have recently acquired a sun coral from my friend.It was in bad shape but after using taperware method for 7 days its slowly opening up ..And man , it is GORGEOUS!!!

The most fascinating coral I have ever used .So will pick up more 2 to 3 pieces that he has as he plans to go sps way and hence wants to get rid of them.

This I have been planning for a sun coral tank..

So have thought of using prodibio system to reduce nitrates and phosphates..

Have got a few questions :-

1.Is the prodibio system heavily dependant on a good skimmer - Well I have a reef octopus skimmer but its not the best.So does prodibio system needs heavy skimming to remove the wastes?

2. Can I use vodka instead of Bioptim with biodigest- I understand that Bioptim is a carbon source for the bacteria . So van I supplement it with vodka.

3. What other things do I need to consider if I go for a sun coral tank.. Any advice will be highly appreciated .

I plan to feed them everyday once with target feeding..

i do that. i started dosing vodka, then got slime on rocks and glass. after starting prodibio the slime eventually vanished. i wouldnt waste money for bioptim, as you said vodka and fish/coralfood should be enough for the bacteria to thrive.
