In recent months GHL have been hard at work a completing the new development of the ProfiLux Control 6 software.

The result is one of the most advanced software solutions to control your GHL ProfiLux Aquarium computer on the market.

Below are two screen shots that provide a taste of the GUI Ribbon Bar interface (to change). This is not only intuitive and more easy to use than before, but provides habitat for a variety of new features.

Ok I used Google translate it :(

Any questions just ask me (in English)

I like it!

I like it!

Trying to see the detail in the screen shots make me feel old...they are so tiny...lol.

When might we get a chance to play with the new software?

Just a few other bits of info.

If you wish to sign up for Beta testing please follow the link provided.

There will be two versions of this software

Standard PLC - This will include all your essentials as you have come to expect from GHL
Professional PLC - This will be supplied as a direct purchase item from GHL directly, the direct route was paramount to keep the cost of the professional upgrade purchase to a minimum. NO info has been released yet on price or additional functionality as yet.

functionality is listed in the first post.

Pricing -

standard - as always free
Pro - price to be announced but all NEW purchasers of elite and ultimate packs will have the product key included.

Will the functionality be the same for the P2 vs. the P3?

Just dont want to have to pull down the system off line twice.

Thanks!!

Bobby

the look will be the saem yes, but of course the P3 has different options so it will have more functionality if connected to a P3

The "BETA Testers" have been decided upon and I think all have been notified already ( somehow my PM hasn't come through yet :( )

not everyone that applied will get a chance, this is not selective but based on first come first served basis.

Early bird gets the worm and all that ;)

FWIW - I do not have it either, neither does Gareth.

Im so excited to see what the new version does. I already like the "Look" of it from the screen shot!

If it follows the trend of current releases from GHL it's going to re-set the standard even higher for other companies. I like being at the TOP of the food chain :)

That GUI is freakin impressive! Do you guys ever quit? Of course not, thats what makes you the leader that YOU ARE!

Just one small question... Why would you charge for the pro version of the software? I know that there are some people who have the most basic units at minimal cost (not that that makes them any less deserving, they still spent a lot of money) but there are also people with extremely expensive kits. I personally have over $3k in equipment from you guys including the lighting plus my controllable Tunzes and I haven't even upgraded my Plus II EX to the 3 or gotten the dosing pumps yet. Im sure you have your reasons but if I dont ask the question I will never know.

Thanks again, love your product!

Hi

The simple answer to this is approx $50,000 of development costs. For such a high cost in development no company could ever consider offering such a thing for free, it is simply not financially viable.

The PLC6 comes in a FREE standard version, and just as with nearly all FREE software these days Pro versions are available for a nominal fee for those that wish for enhanced operation.

Not everyone will want all these features, and keeping in line with GHL's policy of free for life software it is important that there is a standard and Pro version.

One important point to make - Other contoller companies charge for ALL software no matter whether standard or pro (if pro were available)

Lol, that was a quick response. I cant help but feel maybe I rubbed you the wrong way with that question. Not my intent, sorry if that was the result. I understand R&D costs, but not being in software myself and not having seen the new product first hand I didnt realize that there was such a great difference between the already developed version and the newest, I thought the majority of it was simply GUI.

Thanks again for the response, love you guyz!
