Again sorry for the mistake on the first post, but here is the original post:

I have a Profilux II Light that is connected to 2 Sfiligoi fixtures. Each fixture has 8 T5 lamps and 2 150 watt HQIs. The Profilux is basically doing what I want. It is creating a sunrise and sunset effect very nicely, but I have several complaints and questions.

First, I find the directions to be extremely difficult to understand, incomplete, and illogical. I speak German so I even tried my hand at reading the original German to see if that would help, but it didn't. For example terms as simple as "Illumination" have no meaning to English speakers by themselves and need explaining, and how about a simple explanation of how to turn one plug on and off for use as a simple timer. Second, I have 5 computers at home and not one of them has an R232 connection. There is no excuse for not providing a USB connection except to force customers to buy the GHL proprietary R232 to USB or ethernet connector, but then shame on me for not understanding that the Profilux II Light was not wireless capable.

My first question is where can I buy the attachments I need. I would like to extend the communication line from the light fixture to the PowerBar. Right now that line is about 1.5 meters and is stuck in the back of my stand in a very difficult to reach location. I would like to add 1 or 2 meters of line so the Bar reaches the front of my cabinet, but I tried using standard phone line and a phone line union with no success. Does GHL make an extension? Next where can I buy a R232 to USB converter that works? Lastly, does the moonlight function work with T5s? I have tried to turn on the moonlight function, and I got as far as setting the times I'd like it to run, but nothing happens.

Thank-you for any and all help,

Joe

P.S.

This is what I had to get from the store initially to figure out how to get my lights to turn on . . .

First, to ensure the Profilux is set to dim lighting, do this procedure:

Select "SYSTEM", click enter
Select "1-10v Interface" click enter
Select input(do this for inputs 1,2,3,4 to ensure both inputs are active for
lighting no matter which plug they are connected with) click enter
Select "Illumination", click enter
Then click enter for "1v" minimum and then the same for "10v" maximum
Select "Save" and click enter.

As mentioned, do this for all 4 inputs, 1-4. It should be defaulted to this
but just do it for each to make sure.

Next, for programming each of the two channels, first under the menu item
"manual illumination" move the intensity of each channel in order to know
which is blue and which is white. Write it down. This must be done while
the fixture is plugged in to the Profilux and the power for the LED is also
plugged in. Plug it into a wall socket and not the power bar as the outlets
may not be set to on with the Profilux power bar.

With everything plugged in and powered, now you can program each channel.
Here is what you do:

Click Enter to bring up the menus.
Select "Illumination" click enter
Select input #(this is where you need to know which input is white or blue)
click enter for the appropriate color you wish to program
Select "Dimmable" click enter
Select "Auto" click enter
Temperature red light select "NO"
Select # of dim points. (For this, the std # is usually 4. This would
provide a start of 0%, time to reach 100%, time to stay at 100%, and then
finally time to reach 0%, four points in total) click enter upon choosing.
Now, select point #1 time. This would be the time of day you wish your
color of led to start the sunrise. Click enter
Select start intensity(This would be 0%) click enter
Now select point #2 time( This would be when you would like it to reach
100%) click enter
Now select point #2 intensity (This would be 100%) click enter
Select point #3 time ( this would be when the 100% intensity will remain
until) click enter
Select point #3 intensity (this will still be 100%) click enter
Select point #4 time (this is when it will reach 0%) click enter
Select point # 4 intensity (this is when it will reach 0%) click enter
Now you have the chance to choose any further simulations but unfortunately,
none of these are possible with T5s. Just Click enter to move on
Now select yes to Save and you are now done with that channel.

To program the other channel you can now repeat by choosing the other input
#.
