ProfiLux Light II's RS232 to USB cable

Hi,

I'm new PII Light user and would to know whether can I use normal RS232 -USB cable to interface with my Notebook?

Or do I need to get it from GHL profiLux? If do, Please tell me the part reference number.

No no! That part only works in PII and PIII units, the PII light has no expansions slots. A generic Serial to USB cable might work just fine tho, depending on the cable. I have seen some work and others not.

As I stated above, these will not work with a Profilux II LIGHT, the light unit has no expansion slots so you cannot add the USB module.

You need a USB to Serial cable or adapter, this is the only way you can connect your light unit to a USB port.

btw, Is it normal for PII light's control panel Key button's light not fully brighten/lighted up?

I'm 1st time profiLux user so sorry for asking nob question :worried2:!

That looks pretty normal. They key buttoms are only meant to be dimly lit, not super bright.

Dont worry about asking questions.. its always better to ask ahead of time!

Yap...got the Profilux-Ser cable from distributor and now looking for Ser to USB adapter :beer:!
