Profilux-light vs 7096?

I was at my LFS yesterday to order two Tunze 6105 stream pumps and the 7096 controller. I was told that it was better to get the Profilux ligth instead as it would do everything a 7096 can do and much more.

I have no interest in a controller. Currently I have a separate doser (I use balling), I use normal timers for my light and I allready have an ATO.

So at first glance it looks as if I would be paying almost two times of the 7096 for little gain.

Is there a good reason for me to pay the extra money and go with the Profilux ligt? Better pump controll? Features that I want but didn't know I wanted (or that they even existed)?

Hiya

The light II is about the same price as the Tunze multicontroller, not double the price.

You are gaining huge amount of advantages for sure with the Light II

The controller can be linked to your pc easily for great control of your pumps using the hugely advanced Free software.

You can control up to 8 Tunzes and a wave box in various wave forms.

Each wave form can be directly controlled to exact wave form patterning by user defined commands.

Times feed pauses.

Furthermore, the Light II does come with temperature control built in, whether you think you need it now or not this can give you some nice extras the Multicontroller has not got

LED light control built in

Dimmable lighting control built in

All features you (most likely) will see the use of in the future

8 built in timers, with 8 illumination channels.

The Light II in my oppinion is far better value than the multicontroller for nearly the same price with way more features thrown in as well.

Thanks for the reply. I wish they were nearly the same price, but I'm expecting to pay around 1300-1500 sek for the 7096, not received pricing for ut yet, and the Profilux is 2800 sek. So about twice the price.
Those numbers in US dollars would be $150-$190 for the 7096 and $360 for the Profilux. To me thats a lot of extra money for things I'm not sure I will ever need/use.

Not decided yet, but I'm leaning towards the 7096 for pure monetary reasons. If I ever need a controller I might go for the full blown Profilux at that time instead.

If it was not for the fact that I like many others love gadgets the 7096 would win hands down as I don't see a use for the extra features right now or in the near future.

Bah, I hate hard choices .....

Argh I see now

That devise only controls 4 pumps and has hardly any control features at all, just speed form at a pre set wave cycle

To go for the actual luticontroller that only just comes about close to what the profiLux can offer you will pay just under $300.

That the difference.

I had the lower function multicontroller on my tank in the UK, I could never get anywhere near what i required in wave form it was a real pain.
