Here is a picture (I got a SMS from my ProfiLux):

You see some text (can be defined by the user) and a status report (all sensors and probes).

this is a device to check all sensor readings, alarms and power cuts

additionally you can get a status report whenever you want (time based, by call, reaction on digital inputs, ...)

it is not an operating unit - how do you want to manage the approx. 1200 different settings which are given in the ProfiLux with a cell phone?

I can't see there any sense. However, if anyone has a great reasonable idea what to change remotely with a cell phone I will consider that.

If it is possible to do then I would suggest having limited control, I appreciate all 1200 paremeters are not possible.

maybe the key ones

pH
Temp
light

then if you can add more fine, but i think if this was made available I think the unit would have great appeal.

Just a thought as a user rather than man on the ground :)

Matthias,
Would i need to get two modules for each controller or i can use one SMS two check data on both controllers?

If I was only allowed one, it would be to turn the pumps/filter off, It's nice to monitor everything, but If you are using a spill detector and it triggers or both sensor get trigger for unexplained reasond, I would want to be able to shutdown the pumps. Other than that, everything else can wait, but a spill is really bad.

as far as I know your both ProfiLux Plus II are linked over RS485.

That means: One SMS unit can access both devices, if they have different addresses.

The SMS module is able to communicate with several ProfiLux computers!

Kidney,
I personally would ask my neighbour to look after my tank if there was happening something strange and not trust that an action invoked by a cell phone will solve my problems ...

The firmware in the SMS module can be upgraded through the customers.
First we will release now a reliable version with the important and necessary features. If the experiences in the field show that some additional features make sense we will implement them.

I feel same about that, the only reason I said the pumps, is that mine is a 6000gph, and by them time I would get in touch with the neighbour, it will be empty! I always knew that the SMS device was a unidirectional informative unit, and not a control device. But anyways, like I said, it would be the only thing I would have liked to do with SMS, but I guess one can achieve that with programable logic instead......
