Hi

Yes I know thats why I posted the most informative link in regards to this. I have no other info to provide other than that as the only other reported time this happend cleared above by following this link.

If you still cant get it to open after following the advise in the link please post on that thread and GHL will get back to you. Please take into account though it is the weekend and they may not reply until Monday.

I could not get Profilux software to run in windows 7 either. I installed and opens but then won't run.

Do I have to have my profilux unit connected to my laptop when I try to run the software?

Run it under compatability mode. You can also install it as :run as administrator"

I need oto put my frustrated hat on here :( stand back light the blue torch paper Michael is about to blow. ;)

IF YOU HAVE technical assistance PLEASE PLEASE use the correct forum, this will save you getting all frustrated and think we are not helping :(

I do not always have all the answers and although the RC forum is not meant for T/H I do answer some here, but if the question is out of my field of knowledge I ask you to use the correct forum.

This topic needs to be covered at www.aquariumcomputer.com/forum as I have no clue of the inner workings of Bill Gates, all I can tell you is we have multiple users of W7 on ProfiLux control without an issue so it is obviously down to soeme way the W7 is installed on different machines, or configured. If it was a PCTRL issue nobody would be able to install it.

Use the correct forum and you will get the correct support ;)

You can take your flack jackets and tin hats off now ;)

Does it work with the 64 bit version also?

In general, all recently released 32-bit applications will work on a 64-bit version of XP, Vista, or Windows 7. The only time you will run into trouble is if you are trying to run a very old 32-bit application that also includes some 16-bit script. I'd say, pretty much all major applications written in the past 5 years should not have any trouble on a 64-bit version of windows.

I would recommend uninstalling your Profilux software. Then re-install the Profilux software "as administrator" AND in "compatibility mode." Try this step-by-step guide for help: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html

Also, if you have the "Professional" or "Ultimate" version of Windows 7, you can download the " Windows XP Mode" software for free (here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/windows-xp-mode ) This software should dramatically increase compatibility and reduce errors. This free download is not available if you are running the "basic" version of Windows 7.

If all else fails, google.com and this link: www.aquariumcomputer.com/forum are your friends.
