Proflex sump scratches..

Got got delivered my new proflex model 3 sump and it's still in its original packaging. Looking from the side, I can see over 20 plus scratches on the inside walls and floor of the sump. Is this normal?

Yeah. I thought so too. Even lied to myself that maybe its a protective film on the inside that's scratched up and that someone with a proflex sump can confirm. There are a lot of little one inches scratches that I can kinda ignore. But the 20 or so scratches between 4 to 7 inches long are really an eye sore especially if algae starts.

That is BS, but it will be scratched up in no time at all. Just saying! You could take some pictures and send them to the manufacture. Maybe they will kick you a little something.

Thanks all for responding. I actually only want a new sump like the new sump I ordered. I can deal with the minor scratches but I'm not liking the deeper ones on the sides. Didn't expect it to look like a repackaged used sump. Looking at some more this morning, I noticed there are dried water spots from being wiped with wet cloth or something. Anyway, I sent them an email and will not unpack the sump's packaging until I hear back from them.
