OK guys for who want some extra introduction please go and have a look at our other thread in this forum at http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2492225 to see who we are and what is been going on.
Both aquarium project 1 and this one project 2 are still in the design stages and have to be submitted for final approval to our client but the way things look now we hope to be able to start with the building phase real soon.
So here it goes a series of drawings on what the idea would be so we all have an idea on what is the plan. I want as many of you guys help me on this one as this is the first time we have installed such a large system so we will be needing as much as help as possible from all you guys out there. So stay nice and give me all your ideas and opinions so we can sit down with our sub contractors and discuss each and every possibility we can come up with.

top view with the area where aquarium will be placed which will be inside the Palace area with 2 small viewing panes into the main living room area.

rough cut on a side view from the corridor leading from one house into the ballroom where aquarium will be placed.

aquarium will be made with several (16 in total) 57mm (2.24") laminated safety glass panels placed into a concrete framework.

glass panels installed with viewing panels into the main living room area. Will be reinforced and braced with a steel frame.

this should become the final look with decoration around concrete frame to blend into the themed palace ballroom look

some measurements

aquarium would be 20.1ft (6.13m) long 2.7ft (82cm) wide and 6.6ft (2m) tall which would be a total water volume of about 2600 gallon. (10.000 liter)
all glass panels would be 2.24" (57mm) thick and be laminated safety glass.

for filtration we have come up with a temporary list which is not finalized yet on what can be traced here locally or close by.

skimmer will be a
350 BPA Reef Octopus Blaster Q6 (rated at 20.000liter)

main return from and to the display would be run by 5 Reeflo Hammerheads
in the back there would be another 600 gallon (2100liter) water storage with biological filtration elements.

forgot to mention is that the system will be a fish only aquarium with resin rock decorations and some statues inside the display. Several 100kg of life rock will be placed inside the filtration area.

How are you treating the concrete that will be in contact with the water? Are you doing all the plumbing through the floor?

And how in the heck are you going to clean that glass?

It looks amazingly awesome, btw.

Concrete floor and frame will be sealed with several layers of aquarium grade epoxy paint and is constructed using a water resistant cement mixture.
Most plumbing will be going through the back of the tank (gap between glass and wall) and eventually heading into the floor towards the filtration area.
As for glass cleaning as I mentioned get the diving gear out.

You are going to have a hard time diving in that tank with resin decorations and with the being less then 3' wide.

Man that's a skinny tank being so long and tall. Definitely not an ideal build imo. Would be way better to cut add a bit more depth.

Resin decorations will be kept to a minimum. Flat wall piece.
Might not even add anything at all to keep a clean look. Staue will be placed in the middle of the tank.

wish we could make it as big as we wanted sadly enough the client is king and we get only this space allocated so we try to make the best out of it all.
Again this would be a fish only tank with little else inside besides the statue he want in it
