just wondering if there is a way to propagate mangroves from root clippings?

they look like typical rhizomes to me....which i know of land plants rhizomes can be chopped up and planted and they will grow like crazy...(such as Yucca or daylillies)
i have one healthy plant with 6 leaves and i am wondering...what can i do to make more..short of buying more...pricey items up here in Canada..

not sure about Canada, but I got 50 on ebay for about 30$. I guess the shipping to you is what kills it

never thought of ebay...but i otn think the boarder guys like people shipping plants of any sort over the boarder...that is one of those heavily controlled things...affraid of bugs etc...i guess

Despite the similar name, Rhizophora (Red mangrove) does not have rhizomes and I doubt root cuttings are going to make it.
