Propagation, am I correct?

I have a giant 8 inch diameter or bigger rhodactis mushroom that's pink and green, it's huge and I would like to have it make some babies but it doesn't seem to want to do it on it's own. It shows it's foot quit often and there are many spots that could easily be cut using a razor blade, will this grow into a new mushroom? I've seen this mushroom listed for $75 so I really don't want to kill it, someone here wanted a shroom if it split so I'm trying to get things going with this thing. Please give me your thoughts on this giant mushroom, I'm going to go try and find an old picture which I'll post later. Thank you.

BTW it would also be nice to reduce it's size if possible.

You can always try cutting a more common mushroom first, and see how that goes.
It does look like an elephant ear mushroom, and if it really is, then like the person above said - it can capture and eat smaller fish.

That is simply a Green and pink hairy mushroom. They can get huge. I use to have a big one and I moved its rock and accidently tore it in two not the nice way real jagged tear within a few days there were two then they split on there own quite often.

looks like a Green hairy mushroom to me. I have 23 of them. you can cut them with a chainsaw and they will be fine.

Large purple elephant ear (color is off because of lack of actinics)

The band about an inch in from the edge is fairly distinctive of elephant ears.

Just after being fed a piece of silverside

Rynon, I have 2 of those. I believe them to be Frilly mushrooms. Rhodactis sp. Don't split it, I used to have 3 but one ripped in transportation... They don't heal well.

I've found them to be one of the more finicky shrooms. They get small after water changes and excrete their guts out when even a little agitated. I hear these get over a foot, so I wouldn't expect a split any time soon.

Btw. don't ever fw dip them either, Mine almost died when I dipped them for flatworm removal.... it took 3 monthes for them to be normal.

Thanks, this sounds pretty accurate of my mushroom. It does spill it's guts a lot, pretty much anytime I move something in the tank. I'll leave it alone although I wish it would split, the thing is huge....it's in a 29 gallon BioCube and takes up half the tank.

It also does not look anything like that elephant ear mushroom, no white band and the "frills" are different.

Is it possibly to cut a little part of the foot when it's showing and that piece will form its own mushroom? I thought that is what I understood from what someone said.....
